Most people would rather watch something than read something. In December of 2008, YouTube overtook Yahoo as the number 2 search engine. More searches are done on YouTube than any other search engine other than Google. What used to be an online version of America’s Funniest Home Videos has evolved to a real business tool. Why? Because video has appeal and a well done video sets off emotional buying triggers that words alone cannot.

Even if only 500 people watched your video in a year, they prequalified themselves when they searched and then chose your video. What would you have to pay to broadcast your commercial even on local television station for 1 week? How many people would be looking for what you do right at that moment? Probably not 500 people.

Finally, videos do well in search engines for many terms. Google owns YouTube and knows that you like to watch videos, so you can be sure that they will display videos in their universal search results when possible.
